Sigurd Hole is a norwegian bass player and composer from Rendalen living in Oslo. Constantly touring and recording alongside some of Norways finest jazz musicians, he is one of Norways most sought after bass players of his generation. «Hole possesses a deep-in-the-gut tone not unlike Arild Andersen» (John Kelman, allaboutjazz.com), and often works with music relating somehow to norwegian folk music combined with elements from contemporary jazz. His main projects are Eple Trio, different projects with Karl Seglem and most recently: Tord Gustavsen quartet. Sigurd is also a skilled arranger, his arrangements being played by amongst others the Norwegian radio orchestra (Kork). In addition to his artistic work Sigurd teaches double bass and ensembles at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
