CAFETEATRET  2006-2011

Originally a Methodist Church built in 1896, the theatre was opened by Jostein Gaarder and Siri Dannevig in October 2006 to provide a relaxed and intimate space for artistic and cultural events. Now a listed building, the theatre’s beautiful interior and superb acoustics were reflected in the repertoire that was presented at Cafeteatret - a place for intellect, fantasy and reflection!

CAFETEATRET 2006-2011 provided a varied program of theatre, cabaret, musical performance, conversation and art exhibitions.
Unique to Cafeteatret is the combination of onstage performance with a restaurant/ café/bar. In 2006 Cafeteatret was voted Oslo’s best café-concept by TV-Norge (Oslo-TV).

The theatre was sold in 2011 and is now run by Nordic Black Theatre.
