The Nordic Black Theatre (NBT) has been denouncing the suffering of civilians resulting from the conflict between Palestine and Israel by holding different artistic and political actions and supporting diverse initiatives.
Three weeks ago, Norwegian artists read “The Gaza Monologues” at an event at NBT’s Cafeteateret.
Now, we are supporting the virtual action “The Gaza Monologues,” organized by the Palestinian group Ashtar Theatre, through the following activities held by NBT school, Nordic Black Xpress, by means of the discipline “Studies on Dramaturgy,” taught by the Brazilian dramatist Viviane Juguero. This action also counts on a Brazilian partnership led by playwright Cleiton Echeveste and collaborators, who are translating the texts into Brazilian Portuguese.
On November 29th, NBX students and other collaborators will be part of this international action by publishing the monologues on social media. You can also be part of this action. Take a look at https://www.gazamonologues.com/

On November 30th, from 13h to 16h (Norwegian Time), we will have an open dramatic reading on a Zoom Meeting. On this occasion, NBX’s students will read the monologues, and we will discuss the relevance of speaking loudly against violence towards innocent civilians.
Since humans are aesthetic beings, the arts have the power to raise empathy and awareness, contributing to valuable social transformations.
